Steeped In Tradition

Northwoods Has Talent will be a day to celebrate various artists from the area with numerous acts showcased throughout the afternoon and evening.

Conover has a rich tradition of showcasing talented, area entertainers. Many local taverns, supper clubs and resorts have featured artists ranging from local musicians to national recording stars. In the 70s and 80s, headed by the late Russ Jefferson, Conover put on the annual Conover Country Music Show. Featuring many Northwoods musicians, the show grew, drawing hundreds of tourists and local folks. It was a huge success for Conover and provided a venue for our local musicians to present their talent. Losing Russ Jefferson to a logging accident was not only a horrible local tragedy, but it marked the end of the Conover Country Music Show as well. The Conover Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club and Fire Department have put on a lot of events and featured many area musicians since then, but for many years, the likes of the Conover Country Music Show has been only a distant memory...until now.

Join us for this unique celebration at the Conover Town Park featuring the talent of the Northwoods. The celebration will include:

● Dancing on the "Patio"
● Food
● Refreshments
● Covered Picnic Area
● Our Beautiful Northwoods Environment
● Free Admission

The Conover Town Park is located on County Highway K about 1/4 mile east of Highway 45. Please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets.
